History of ETIMEX
1950
ETIMEX founded as Europa Textil Im- und Export Ges., Stuttgart, Trade in industrial yarns.
1956
Entrance into plastics processing, name changed to ETIMEX Textil and Kunststofferzeugnisse GmbH.
1957 - 60
Start production of printed and non-printed PE film, mass production of PE bags with shutting flaps.
1963 - 65
Minigrip bags introduced, production of highly transparent PP film produced with cast film technology.
1967
Name changed to ETIMEX Kunststoffwerke GmbH, Stuttgart.
1969
New factory built in Dietenheim.
1975
Deutsche BP AG acquires the company.
1980
Development and production of laminating films.
1981
Extrusion of PS films and production of PET ready meal trays for use in the microwave.
1982
Development of photovoltaic films.
1986 - 87
Considerable expansion of extrusion capacities, manufacturing and processing of PP barrier films.
1988
Development of a special manufacturing process (clean room conditions) for PP films for the pharmaceutical and medical industry.
1991
Merger with other plastics processing companies of the Deutsche BP AG and change of name into BP Chemicals PlasTec GmbH.
1992
PP mono material packaging solution.
1995
Market launch of PP peelable films, strategic realignment of the product range, extensive investments in modernisation and expansion of production.
2002
The management team takes over the Dietenheim, Rottenacker and Charlotte plants in cooperation with Barclays Private Equity.
ETIMEX takes on a new form:
All activities in Dietenheim continue under the new name of ETIMEX Primary Packaging GmbH, with the existing management and all employees. The new name was chosen intentionally to link the traditional values and the innovative spirit of the previous company to the new corporation.
2005
Construction of a new production hall for the solar film business on the premises.
Aquistion of the AIS (Air Induction Systems) business of Vibracoustic with sites in Bad Salzdetfurth and Gotha.
2006
The transfer of all solar activities to the new building is completed.

2007
Establishment of a new subsidiary of ETIMEX Technical Components GmbH in Hranice / Czech Republik
2008
Separation of ETIMEX Primary Packaging GmbH into two legal entities:
ETIMEX Primary Packaging GmbH and ETIMEX Solar GmbH.

ETIMEX Solar USA, Inc.
Incorporation of a selling agency in Sacramento / California.
